Meet the Stammlers
Hello!
We are Toni & Pete Stammler, owners and hosts of M & E Homes.
We met while attending grad school at the University of Northern Colorado and lived in Lakewood, Colorado, for seven years, both teaching elementary school in Jefferson County. Pete is still teaching, now at the elementary school in Montrose, and Toni stays home with our three young boys, having stepped away from teaching in 2019.
Originally from the small towns of Pine and Craig, Colorado, we moved to Montrose in 2018, searching for the ideal place to raise our three sons (S, M, and E). We quickly fell for the stunning San Juan Mountains, abundant outdoor activities, central location, and the friendly, small-town vibe of Montrose.
How We Became Hosts
In 2019, we began managing three long-term rentals in Montrose. Our eldest son affectionately named each house “Dad’s house,” “Mom’s house,” and “S’s house.” When we acquired a duplex in 2021, we naturally named the units after his two younger brothers, M and E. The previous owner had already been renting M’s unit as a short-term rental and E’s as a long-term rental. Toni fell in love with hosting short-term guests and, when our long-term renters moved out in 2023, we converted E’s home into a short-term rental as well.
Our Passion For Hospitality
We are passionate about hosting and committed to providing exceptional hospitality and memorable experiences for our guests. We are a pet and family-friendly property, and as parents and pet-owners ourselves, we fully understand that traveling with both can be stressful. That’s why we offer amenities designed to make every stay comfortable and relaxing.
Over the years, we have fine-tuned our hosting business, adding thoughtful touches and updates to ensure all our guests feel at home. Our goal is to make our homes cozy, convenient, welcoming, and safe, so guests of all ages—and their furry friends—can unwind and enjoy all that Montrose and the Western Slope of Colorado have to offer. We also love to share our favorite local spots for dining, drinking, hiking, and exploring. We look forward to hosting your stay and helping you discover the best of Montrose and the surrounding areas!
